Built as a private residence in 1823, Centre Hill, located in Petersburg, VA, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. The 13,000 square foot building currently serves as a historic house museum. After a receiving a grant from the Cameron Foundation, the City of Petersburg retained Commonwealth Architects to complete a Historic Structures Report (HSR), which summarizes a detailed investigation, and produce HABS-level drawings of the building.
Commonwealth Architects provided an architectural description and a condition assessment of the exterior and interior of Centre Hill, including an analysis of existing conditions, damage, structural problems, and/or material deterioration. Based on existing conditions, recommendations for necessary work including priorities, phasing, and estimated costs was provided.
