Commonwealth Architects provided master planning and design services for the Academy of Fine Arts, Performing Arts Center Theater, an 80,000 SF project in downtown Lynchburg, Virginia. In addition to providing schematic design services for the full performing arts center, we also provided complete construction documents and contract administration services for Phase I of the project.
Phase I totaled 23,000 square feet and involved the addition of an 8,000 square-foot black box theatre to the Price Clements Building, a two story warehouse dating to the Civil War, and completion of infrastructure and improvements for future development of the full performing arts center.
