Commonwealth Architects was contracted by the Town of Leesburg to develop a conditions assessment for the Loudoun Museum, a complex of two buildings built at various times between the mid-18th and mid-19th centuries. Over time, they have served variously as a restaurant, an Odd Fellows lodge hall, and, currently, a museum. After taking a piecemeal approach towards the maintenance and care of the building, the Town desired to create a document to serve as a foundation for the future care of the property. Investigations included architectural, historical, structural, civil, MEP, and environmental evaluations.
The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register. All recommended work adhered to the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards.
