Seeking to provide improved access to Brown’s Island, Venture Richmond commissioned Commonwealth Architects for the design of a pedestrian bridge at Foundry Park in downtown Richmond, Virginia. Located at the base of Gamble’s Hill at 5th and Tredegar Streets, and in between the Tredegar National Civil War Museum and the new WestRock (formerly MeadWestvaco) Headquarters, the new bridge crosses the Haxall Canal, connecting the proposed Foundry Park development to Brown’s Island and the James River.
