Stephen Weisensale Gives Mayor Levar Stoney and Team a Tour of Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club Renovation + Expansion

Architect Stephen Weisensale, AIA had the pleasure of giving Richmond’s Mayor Levar Stoney and his team a tour of the 1970’s Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club building in Richmond’s East End, which is now being renovated and expanded. Commonwealth Architects has designed the renovation of the 30,000 space (including pool, gym, and multipurpose areas) and an addition of 8,000 new square feet, including fitness areas and a teen center.

The Salvation Army’s partnership with The Boys and Girls Club has caused this building to become a key staple in the community, providing a space for after-school programs, teen programs and adult education. Construction, performed by Eagle Commercial Construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2018.
