Commonwealth Architects Announces Two Promotions

Commonwealth Architects is pleased to announce the following promotions:

Jane Tidwell, Director of Interior Design, has been promoted to Associate Principal.

Since joining the firm Jane has been an essential component of the Interior Design group’s success through the infusion of her strong design sense and exceptional standards of quality and service for our clients.

As a lead designer and project manager for Commonwealth Architects, Jane has specialized in interior design for corporate, higher education and multi-family residential projects. In her new role as Associate Principal, she will be focusing on building and maintaining client relationships while providing direction and guidance for all interior design projects. She is currently working on boutique hotels in Richmond, VA, and Fredericksburg, VA in addition to several corporate workplace and healthcare projects.

Mitchell Rowland, III has been promoted to Associate Principal for Commonwealth Architects.

Mitch joined the firm as Director of Higher Education and has excelled in his role as Director and Project Manager. His depth of experience has made him an invaluable part of the leadership at Commonwealth Architects. With a broad range of projects and more than 40 years in practice, Mitch was a founding principal of Boyton Rothchild Rowland Architects, which merged with Commonwealth Architects last year.

Mitch has brought his design expertise to our Higher Education work and is currently serving as project manager for several projects with state agencies and universities as well as the new Anna Julia Cooper Episcopal School.
