Commonwealth Architects Amelia House Team Takes Sunday Prize
The virtual AIA Richmond Awards kicked off with the Alice Lehman Sunday Prize and a big win for Commonwealth Architects. The Technical Drawing Category Merit Award was given to the Commonwealth Architects team for construction drawings of the Amelia House in Fredericksburg, Va. Team members included Margaret Bozicevich, Assoc. AIA and Samantha Stephenson.
The Amelia House Team: Samantha Stephenson, Margaret Bozicevich, Luis Gomez & Patrick Thompson
Supervisor Luis Gomez said,
“My world is getting better each day knowing that I am able to mentor and give back to my peers! It is wonderful to see this team recognized for the hard work!”
Patrick Thompson, Assoc. AIA and team mentor said,
“I am glad to see my colleagues come away with this honor; Luis, Sam and Margy are very talented and I am sure they will win many more honors to come!”
Thompson was correct! Margaret Bozicevich, Assoc. AIA also came away with the Sketch Category Merit Award for her sketch called “Paris Library.” Judges were impressed with her use of light and noted that it came through in both her lamp study and through use of natural light in her sketch.
