Renovated Hunter-McDaniel Hall provides new spaces for STEM programs
Commonwealth Architects is proud to have been part of the team that completed the renovation and expansion of Hunter-McDaniel Hall at Virginia State University. Below are the latest photos of the project that transformed the outdated 106,000-square-foot academic building into a state of the art facility to house the Departments of Chemistry, Physics, Nursing, Psychology, Mathematics and Computer Science.
The renovated building now includes updated lecture halls, distance learning spaces, and faculty and departmental offices. In addition, specialized spaces were designed to further enhance the learning environment, including:
- TEAL (Technology Enhanced Active Learning) classroom
- Nursing simulation labs
- Updated and enhanced chemistry and physics labs
- Open and active math and computer science labs joined by a new robotics lab
- Informal learning areas equipped with wireless technology
