Commonwealth Architects Designs Green Roof for Science Museum of Virginia’s Dome Theater
Construction has been completed on Commonwealth Architects’ most recent sustainable design project: the installation of a green roof system at the Science Museum of Virginia’s Dome Theater. Aside from its inherent sustainable attributes, the eco-friendly roofing system will also serve as an educational tool, integral to the Science Museum’s education and exhibit program. Commonwealth Architects, along with Lucas and Associates roofing consultants, is proud to be a part of this project and its commitment to sustainability and green building practices.
Commonwealth Architects is also honored to have been awarded the term contract for the ongoing building improvements at the Science Museum of Virginia. Built in 1917, the neoclassical building, which originally served as the Broad Street Station, now houses the museum that inspires Virginians to enrich their lives through science.
