Amelia House is a four- story mixed-use apartment building which establishes a new standard in upscale luxury living in downtown Fredericksburg. The project is in response to the strong market demand and is the second mixed-use building in the William Square campus designed by Commonwealth Architects for Vakos Companies. Spanning a full city block, the façade of the building is given scale by a series of classical projecting porticos resting on a rusticated base. Its white color stands out from the surrounding red brick palette and is reminiscent of local resorts such as the Greenbrier and Williamsburg Lodge.
The project features an expansive lobby entered from Washington Avenue and a dramatic two-story Commons Room on the third floor looking over an adjoining outdoor patio towards Williams Street. The facility contains a large exercise facility on the first floor, to be shared with The Publisher and the adjacent community. The 50 luxury apartment units range from one-bedroom, one-bath to two-bedroom, two-bath in a two-story loft, and all are well appointed with premium appliances, wood cabinets, and tiled baths.
