Deco at CNB and WestRock/CoStar deal in Richmond take top honors in commercial real estate
Deco at CNB, an apartment building in downtown Richmond, and CoStar Group Inc.’s lease in the WestRock Co. building, also in downtown Richmond, won top honors Tuesday at the 15th annual awards ceremony presented by the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate.
Deco at CNB, an adaptive reuse and historic tax credit project in the former Central National Bank building at 219 E. Broad St., won the 2017 GRACRE Project of the Year. The 23-story building, one of the finest examples of art deco in the area and erected during the Great Depression, was once one of Richmond’s tallest skyscrapers.
The $40 million project has 200 apartments — 112 units in the tower and 88 units in an annex. It is owned by Washington-based Douglas Development Corp. The general contractor was Newport News-based W.M. Jordan Co. and the architect was Commonwealth Architects.
