In an effort to create a “Gateway to Petersburg” Commonwealth Architects is partnering with developer C.A. Harrison to transform the deteriorating former Ramada Inn into the centerpiece of a new mixed-use development. Built in 1973, the existing 120,000 square foot hotel structure will be completely renovated into 10 floors of 125 hotel rooms and suites. The new hotel rooms, suites and executive suite will meet current industry standards and feature a full list of amenities including meeting rooms, conference rooms, bar, indoor pool and outdoor courtyard.
The development also will include several parcels surrounding the hotel on East Washington and East Wythe streets, which will be developed into a mixed-use complex with 26,700 square feet of retail and office space and up to 100 residential apartment units.
