Commonwealth Architects is currently assisting in the renovation of Henrico County’s former Dumbarton Library. The 22,000 square foot structure will become the new corporate headquarters of the Henrico County Recreation & Parks Department. The new interior space will offer 15 offices, 25 workstations with 10-15 interns in flex space, storage space, and large conference room. Public meeting space and a multipurpose art room will also be incorporated, designed for public use and community events.
The entire office exudes modern professionalism while incorporating the Recreation & Parks’ branding colors throughout. Glass front offices, LED lighting, and ceiling light wells were incorporated to provide both natural and artificial lighting, which is a major goal of this project. Display shelving will also be added to provide a space for Henrico County’s collection of memorabilia.
Commonwealth Architects will also be re-skinning the dated aluminum siding to provide a fresh look to the building’s exterior.
