This adaptive re-use project converted an old skating rink into Dominion Due Diligence Group’s new headquarters. The design was challenging, because of the large volume of the space. The client wanted to add a mezzanine level with offices, but did not want walls. Acoustical “clouds” were hung over the open workstations to help with noise reduction.
The client’s wish was to save as much of the original building and to utilize materials and finishes that are environmentally sustainable in the renovation process. Interface Carpet tiles with recycled content were used for sustainability and versatility. The paints are all Zero VOC and most fabrics have recycled content. The color palette inspiration was taken from the client’s existing branding, with fun accent colors added to enhance the playful, casual corporate culture.
