Commonwealth Architects was contracted to provide full design and construction administration services for the new construction of a Bank of America branch in Richmond’s West End. The new facility is a one-story, 4,800 sf banking center designed with a red brick exterior and gray standing seam metal roof. The Commonwealth Architects team was tasked with integrating the latest technologies in security and banking processes with innovative designs utilizing natural light and complimentary materials.
The Bank of America at Short Pump provides four covered drive-thru lanes, including two drive-up ATM’s, as well as a bypass lane for through traffic. In addition, there is one walk-up ATM at the front of the facility. The interior layout accommodates six lobby tellers, in addition to the head teller, two drive-up tellers, and six consumer-banking stations with adjacent customer waiting area. Also included in the design are two coupon booths, a large conference room, office, break room and employee restrooms.
